I offer over 30 years experience in psychotherapy with individuals and groups. I believe that identifying, acknowledging, and releasing blocked energy can be transformative and a path to deepening relationship with the self.
Therapy is essentially about moving energy. Coping skills may be developed in childhood to survive family-of-origin and cultural projection. As we age, pain results from using coping skills that no longer work and that continue to mask the authentic self. Our point of power is our willingness to change. Therapy may be about self-compassion, self-forgiveness, and developing new coping skills.
I specialize and am certified in Brainspotting (BSP), a powerful brain therapy that reveals a client’s unprocessed traumas though fixed eye positions and bilateral music. I am certified in EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), a therapy that has proven effective for treatment of trauma through bilateral stimulation. EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping), is a method of moving/releasing energy by tapping meridians of the body. I also use Theta Healing, Narrative, Systems, Family-of-Origin, and Cognitive therapies. Exploring conflict resolution as well as development of focusing and self-esteem skills may often be appropriate.
